For a long time, my signature on Wenming has been nothing more than a simple blog address link, with limited advertising effect.
Lately I’ve been hanging around the department board more often, and while looking at some interesting signature lines, I’ve come to feel that a rather rich signature line can indeed have quite a strong appeal.
I don’t really like writing fragmentary, aphoristic pieces, but every now and then writing a few passages like this does feel pretty good.
Before I knew it, I had already added 9 signature lines (the latest 4 of which, it seems, I still haven’t had a chance to use in posts), and together they had grown to a sufficiently large body of text, so I might as well make a collection of them on the blog.
Except for the few sentences in item 2, which all come from One Piece, and item 8, which was written long ago as “starry-sky philosophy,” the rest are all recent originals.
The 1st signature line
Every island is temporary; one keeps chasing on the open sea. What one chases is the unknown, not the known.
The value of treasure lies in use and exchange; a treasure locked forever in a safe is worthless baggage.
The truth of companions lies in continually accepting one another’s changes; fixed and unmoving feelings are lies that deceive oneself.
The meaning of life lies in possibility; only certainty belongs to lifeless machines.
Philosophy is the road beneath one’s feet, not an object in one’s hand. Never let one’s world become fixed—that is the road of philosophy.

Human beings are born free. Freedom is both an inborn capacity and a desire that is hard to part with;
just like the capacity to eat, every healthy person has no choice but to possess such a capacity;

Healthy eating habits can limit and cultivate the capacity to eat; a philosophical way of life can limit and cultivate the capacity for freedom.
The capacity to eat is destined to decline as one grows old; what about freedom?

The 8th signature line
Even if 99% of the universe is filled with darkness, when I look up at the night sky, what remains in my eyes is still that brilliant starry sky!
Treat all that is good and beautiful with gratitude; receive all that is evil and ugly with tolerance
The reason the starry sky is beautiful is not because she is full of light,
