A Very Comprehensive Analysis of Scorpio

I have absolutely no belief in horoscopes: I neither accept them, nor need them, and they’re not even all that fun. But I admit they are very “effective,” with many things said quite accurately, and the various suggestions they give are for the most part harmless; reading them is not a bad thing. Of course, I’m not interested in reading them, unless someone else mentions one and I suddenly feel like taking a look.

Horoscopes are very good at exploiting human psychology. When we see a long analysis, if there are a few passages in it that “hit the nail on the head,” so accurate as to be astonishing, then our attention will be drawn to those paragraphs that are even more precise than a self-introduction. And the rest of the analysis, which seems not quite on target, often consists of character elements that everyone potentially has, or some ambiguous and vague statements. When it comes to aspects of oneself that are not especially distinctive, one often can’t say for sure exactly what they are like; so when seeing those general analyses, one also easily and habitually thinks: “Oh, I guess I really am like that!”

Today someone mentioned that in 2007 the third-luckiest sign for a comeback would be Scorpio, which sounded rather interesting. I hope I really can make a comeback—so long as my guaranteed admission to graduate school goes smoothly, that’s all I’m asking for; I don’t dare hope for anything else, haha.

In order to stop Phaethon, the goddess Hera released a poisonous scorpion, which bit Phaethon’s ankle, while Zeus struck Phaethon with terrible thunder and lightning. With a miserable cry he fell to the ground and died.

Human life returned to peace once again. In memory of that poisonous scorpion, which was also struck dead by lightning, this constellation was named “Scorpio.”
